Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2015 Toyota Sienna- Video

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2015 Toyota Sienna

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.Com, and today you're gonna be taking a look at the Timbren rear suspension enhancement our 2015 Toyota Sienna. There's a lot of different reasons why you'd want a suspension enhancement on the back of your van. Part of the reason may be that you're towing a trailer. Once you put that heavy weight on the back, it's going to push down on the back end of the van, put a lot of strain and stress on the suspension. Not to mention anybody riding in the van is going to be extremely uncomfortable because this suspension isn't going to have enough travel. We're gonna end up bottoming out.All that feeling is going to resonate through the seats, and again, this is not going to be very comfortable. But since the back end is getting pushed down, the front end is going to rise up, which brings up a few more problems. Our tires start to wear unevenly. Our alignment is kind of off. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2006 Toyota Sienna- Video

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Today, on our 2006 Toyota Sienna, we're going to be installing the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement, part number TTORSEN04. All right. Now, let's get some factory measurements here. Let's figure out how our van sits before any load's on it. Here in the rear, it looks like we're going to be at about 29-1/4 inches, and here at the front, we've got about 29-3/4. Now, that we've got a load on our vehicle, you can see we're getting that rear-end sag that's common when you're towing, when you've got your van loaded with your passengers, pets, all the goodies, everything you need for camping, or maybe you got that 4-bike rack hanging off the bike. Whatever the situation is, it draws the rear of the vehicle down. more

Air Lift Air Helper Springs Installation - 2013 Toyota Sienna

Today on our 2013 Toyota Sienna, we are going to be installing the AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for coil springs on the rear of the vehicle, part number AL60732. While we are going to go ahead and run the vehicle through our test course, I am going to show you a comparison with factory suspension versus with airbags installed. You will notice how much better the vehicle handles and how much less body roll there is with the airbags installed on the vehicle. Before we install our new AirLift Air Helper springs, I'm going to go ahead and take a few measurements. This is the vehicle. This measurement here is no weight in the back of the vehicle, with factory suspension. So we will measure from the ground to the bottom of the wheel well. more

Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2012 Toyota Sienna

Today on our 2012 Toyota Sienna, we'll be installing the Firestone Coil Rite Air Helper Springs, part number F4155. To begin, we'll first go ahead and measure our ride height with the manufacturer's suspension and no weight added to the vehicle. As you can see, to the top of the fender here at the rear, it's 29-3/4 inches. Now, we'll go ahead and add approximately 760 pounds of weight. We'll take a second measurement, and it brings it to 27-1/2 inches. Now, we'll go ahead and run our vehicle over our test course. As we go through the slalom portion of our test course, with the excessive weight in the back, we have decreased steering ability and excessive sway and body roll. As we go over the bumps portion of the course, you can see there's minimal suspension travel distance remaining and causes quite an impact when it encounters the bumps. Now, we'll go ahead and install the Firestone Coil Rite Air Helper Springs. more

Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Today on our 2006 Toyota Sienna we'll be installing the Firestone Air Helper Spring Kit Part #F4155. Our first step will be to install the air bag inside the coil spring. To make it more accessible and easier to install the air bag, it may be necessary to remove the lower shock mounts so that the axle can swing down further away from the vehicle. To do this, we'll remove the nut washer on the shock mount and then the fender washer and slide the shock off the lower shock mount. Now we can go ahead and take the weight off of the vehicle. To do this, we'll raise the body allowing the suspension and axle to fall. As you can see the wheel speed sensor wire is starting to become stretched. In order not to harm the wire we'll go ahead and disconnect the wire from the wheel speed sensor. more
